The iPhone undoubtedly started a demand for a touchscreen phone / pda that you can take anywhere to surf the web, watch video, listen to music and take photos. Seeing a brilliant opportunity, clone makers from all over the world (as well as mainstream American manufacturers) descended upon this technology with full intentions to copy it.

No doubt, there are many clones from which to choose. But, the CECT P168 is still the gold standard, because not only did it convincingly copy the iPhone, it downright improved it, so much so that Popular Science magazine calls this clone "the real deal".

The CECT P168 looks so much like the iPhone most people assume that mine is the original. But it is the performance and additional features of this phone that makes it one I will not be without. CECT had the brilliant notion to add an additional sim card to this phone allowing me to have two numbers, one for work and one for play. I do not need to turn the phone off to use either sim and I no longer have to lug around two phones.

CECT additionally added a removable battery. No one wants to run to the dealer every time the phone dies the way you have to with the iPhone. Also, these phones come unlocked which means you don't have to hack the phone if you don't want to be stuck with AT&T's over $100 service.

CECT has added three more speakers and surround sound. The sound system on the P168 puts the iPhone to shame.

Finally, this phone is just very high quality. It feels and performs extremely solid and I have never had one ounce of trouble with it nor dealt with any bugs.

And it priced very attractively, running between $100 and $120, not to mention the money you will save on AT&T service.

If you're looking for improved iPhone technology for the right place, consider the P168. It started the attack of the clones and it's still the best.
